Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a motivated Maintenance Make Ready Technician to join our company, GMC Property Management! We are a family owned and managed company that has been in the multi-family industry for over 30 years. We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 2 years in the Maintenance Industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in make readies with electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry as needed
  • Complete work orders as directed by Community Manager and or Lead Maintenance
  • Repair structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors 
  • Complete preventative maintenance program 
  • Complete grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping 
  • Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems is preferred but not required for this position
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required

  • Ability to use power and hand tools to effectively and safely complete maintenance tasks 
  • Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions

REQUIREMENTS

  • One year of property maintenance experience preferred
  • Willing to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call
  • Possession of valid driver’s license and up to date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation
  • Prior to employment pass criminal background screening

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work involves daily exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, humidity, wind and precipitation.
  • Frequent contact with residents in and outside of their apartment homes including those with disabilities 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and downstairs, and able to walk the property in its entirety.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team, as needed.

  • Salary for this full-time position will be commensurate with experience
  • Monthly bonus potential for on call duties as well as resident renewals
