Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Manager to join our team and support the Vice President of Engineering & Projects. In this role, you will oversee critical business projects and contribute to the success of both small and moderately-sized projects. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our mission to deliver excellence in project management.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth project execution across various aspects, including engineering, construction, safety oversight, project controls, and reporting. You will collaborate with diverse teams, manage contractors, and oversee the successful completion of projects aligned with organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Vice President of Engineering & Projects with the overall management of engineering, construction, and safety for assigned projects. This includes tracking, forecasting, and reporting on project execution, costs, schedules, risks, safety, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaborate with leadership to prepare regular project updates, including daily plans, weekly and monthly progress reports, and presentation materials for the Steering Committee and Board. These materials will address project scope, status, change management, contingency planning, risk management, and resolution of issues.
Lead and supervise third-party contractors to ensure the timely execution of their work. Provide guidance and support in the development of regular reports, cost and schedule updates, and safety/risk monitoring.
Support the development of project baselines for scope, cost, schedule, risk profile, and other key metrics. Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies and procedures.
Direct and manage the administration of the Project Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Controls Process, offering specialized expertise for resolving complex project control issues and determining appropriate contractual actions.
Provide analysis on project execution, costs, commitments, trends, and changes. Work proactively with the Project Team to implement corrective actions where needed.
Oversee the implementation of financial and project controls, including document management procedures, for assigned projects and study teams.
Assist in reviewing and validating Contract Administration invoices, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and payment distributions. Ensure accuracy in project accounts payables.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Approximately 10 years of relevant work experience, including civil project engineering and construction execution in a mining or industrial environment.
Experience with tailings dams, earthworks, roads, diversion structures, liners, and erosion control is required.
Industrial plant engineering and construction experience, particularly in mechanical, structural, and piping for mining environments, is highly regarded.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with cost and schedule management systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Proven experience in stakeholder management and successful interaction with site management, operations, and corporate leadership.
Knowledge of project front-end loading, execution, and controls processes is essential.
